March Profits
The month of march proved to be a very profitable one for me in both tournaments and ring games, indeed my newly adopted strategy of of sticking to one particular poker site not only filled the coffers with $4000 but also earned some excellent perks through an accumulation of V.I.P points.
The month started with the $2000,000 guaranteed prize pool over at Titan poker, a tournament in which first place stood to gain $500,000, and the top 200 players would receive at least $1000.
On the day of the big game I had the luxury of a long lie in as my partner and children were going out for the day, This was ideal for me as I expected that if I was to make any sort of good money out of this one, a marathon session would be required
So on to the big game, it started at 8pm G.M.T and had around 1400 players all fighting for a share of this giant prize pool. The tournament itself had a fantastic structure in which the blinds increased every 30 minutes and very much suited my style of play , so with my confidence brimming I got torn in about it. As the evening turned to late night and the numbers playing dwindled I found myself chatting away with two people who had been at my table for most of the five hours we had played, a chap from Canada and a lady from Blackpool. With exception to ring games or private tournaments chatting with other players at the table is something I rarely do, however the long blind periods coupled with the lack of table action meant a change in my no chat policy was needed.
After 7 hours of solid poker play and with my chip stack well above average I noticed a comment in the chat box claiming we were only 10 players off the cash and me along with my new found friends practically had money in the bank. Around 2 hands later with only 8 players left before a cash out I looked at my hand and saw pocket fives, a hand I would normally fold but on this occasion I was getting a cheap call in late position so I took a punt at it. Good decision as the flop made me quad fives, and if that wasn't enough before the betting got back to me there had been a big raise and a re raise. There was one downside the big re raise was my Canadian friend and I the stack to bust him out with him getting no cash for his seven hours work. Any I flat called the re raise as did the original raiser and turn brought a third diamond so when the betting hit me I pushed my stack and bust the pair of them who had both made big flushes out. Then about an hour later I called an all in raise with pocket aces pre flop and lost to trip sevens made on the river and bust out in 120th place and picking up $2484.

Good Week In All
This week wasn't bad as far as poker was concerned, I was working days so in the evening I played some small stakes tournaments across three different sites. Things seem to go very well for me and I soon found myself in good profit so I decided to play in some satellites for a few various large buy in tournaments, Once again another good show and was it not for my pocket aces getting cracked on two separate occasions I may well have found myself in the Irish open.
The weekend started with some ring games, I started early Friday with some Omaha HI LO and found myself at a very loose table so I decided to play super tight and wait on premium hands, This tactic paid off and after only an hour I found myself well up thanks to one particular player who kept reloading his stack $50 at a time every time he bust out. After this guy left the table quietened down and also began filling with some regular players, guys I have played with before and know will never put their money in without a very good hand so I left.
Over Saturday and Sunday I went back to playing tournaments although not as profitable as the previous weeks games I still finished in the black, And to top that off I finished in the money playing two private tourneys which contained some very formidable players. So all n all a very profitable week and I look forward to my next poker adventure.

GOOD POKER SCORE
Mixed bag of poker this week, Friday night I played my usual Omaha Hi Lo $1-$2 ring game. Very enjoyable evening in all with a good mix of players at the table, Although playing for four hours I ended the session with only $9 more than my original buy in, Still great night with some very interesting characters.
Saturday evening I started with a satellite over at Titan poker to get into their upcoming $2,000,000 guaranteed tournament, With just 8 seats up for grabs from a field of 734 this was going to be a tall order, Never the less as usual it was a challenge I was up for.
At my opening table I found myself jammed between 2 megalomaniacs who seemed intent on busting out before the first level of blinds changed...(incidentally they were both out within the first 3o minutes)
After 2 hours of play I found myself sitting middle of the field, out of 734 players we were down to about 200 or so with the 3 top players having stacks of about 3-1 over the chasing pack. By the time we were passing the 3 hour mark my stack had grew tremendously and only 2 tables remained, At this time I decided to tighten my game up and hold out for the last eight, which I managed.
So in three weeks time I'll play in a tournament that has a $1580 buy in as well a life changing sum of money for first prize
Good health to you all.

STUNTMAN FAILS
Scottish stunt man Rod "RAGE" Riley failed tonight in his attempt at a new forward wheelie record, Despite a gallant attempt the dare devil fell short of the 23 feet that was needed to take the illustrious crown from Linoland man Eyeman Umpty who set the original record seven years previously. After words a clearly saddened but defiant Rod said "I'm bitterly disappointed this did not go as planned, Although this was a difficult stunt I was very confident that it could indeed be done. Perhaps some people may now put my ability in question,But this is not the end I will be back"

POKER GENETICS
What can "I" say my love for the game knows no bounds, It's one of few things that can satisfy my craven for confrontation. As I'm sure a lot of recreational and professional players would agree, Theirs just something inside you that wants to go to war with other like minded people. For me the challenge of using the mind to not only deceive but also to intimidate your fellow combatants into either surrendering their hands or meeting the challenge laid down to them is reason I have such a burning passion for the game .
Where does this desire for conflict come from?.....Myself "I" am of the opinion that it is genetic, Some instinct that has been past down the generations. My reasons for thinking along these lines is because whilst at school my class took part in a Government initiative to trace our family trees, After giving as much information as "I" could and waiting a number of months my results were finally sent to me. And basically the origins of my family surname was traced back to the Vikings (probably the biggest nutters of their time) whilst my middle name was traced to an old Highland clan who had many battles as they expanded their lands.
Enough of the sad anorak in me, (another genetic trait perhaps)
Over the coming months "I" will be posting the many exploits from my poker adventures from bad beats to suck outs to my big wins and losses. "I" will also be giving details of my other betting activities such as sports betting as well as any non poker casino trips.
Good health to you all.
